Dominion is a fun, easy to learn, deck building card game. Each player starts with an identical, very small deck of cards. In the center of the table is a selection of other cards the players can "buy" as they can afford them. Through their selection of cards to buy, and how they play their hands as they draw them, the players construct their deck on the fly, striving for the most efficient path to the precious victory points by game end. 2-5 players. The game usually takes 30-45 minutes. No gam …

It's also a chance to get involved and help out with game balance, so both players and designers are welcome. Note: The point of this group is to meet in-person and play. People who own the game (and all the expansion cards) are *particularly* welcome.

If you enjoy playing Scrabble, then this is the group for you. We don't get to competitive; this group is really about playing a fun game and enjoying the company. No need to bring a board, but do plan to have a drink or a nosh. We generally meet every Thursday at Au Coquelet Cafe in downtown Berkeley. Feel free to add other dates/venues. No fees, but do buy at least a drink or some food from the cafe.
We are active, and not only like to walk and meet new friends (or more!), but do other fun things: picnics, board games, overnite short getaways during the week, maybe have a salon to bring your creative wisdom, and tell about. The possibilities are there, we just need YOU.

So what's the worst part of most book groups? Being forced to read a book you simply don't want to read. And what's the best part: getting all those great book recommendations! In this meet up, we're going to dispense with the book *reading* and go straight to the recommending ... and we'll do it with a game I call the "Book Auction". Each participant brings 2 of their favorite books (1 fiction, 1 non-fiction) -- these can be books off your shelf, or new purchases from a store. At the door, ever …

Variety is the spice of life, says the old adage. I think veg*ns can do a lot of different things as veg*ns, besides just eating together. I do like trying good restaurants, and I do like potlucks, but that's not all there is to life. Veg*ns need to find friends with whom they share other interests, besides a similar diet. In my life, music, dancing, movies, art, theatre, games, literature, dogs, nature, travel, museums, and animal welfare all contribute to my sense of identity, and my feeling t …
